Announcement of Winners for the Seventh International MANGA Award
The International MANGA Award was established in May 2007 to honor MANGA artists who have contributed to the promotion of MANGA overseas. This year 256 entries from 53 countries and regions were made.

The Executive Committee of this Award, chaired by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, has chosen 15 works as winners, including a Gold Award work and three Silver Award works.

On Friday, February 14, the ceremony was held in Tokyo to grant the Gold and Silver Awards to the works below:

    Born in 1983. Bachelor of FINE ARTS, Faculty of decorative Arts, Silpakom University, Thailand.Bachelor of art in Animation Technique from Ecole Pivaul, Nantes, France Debut in 2004 with illustration for children book "Vera and Victor Discover Thailand", wirdheim Culture AB publisher,Sweden.
    〈Story line〉 A comedy is based on a true story about the artist's pet dog, Bokbig. One day, the father brought the dog home. Bokbig is a cheerful and funny dog and brings happiness to the family. Later, the family decided to buy a new dog, Bamboo, expecting it to be Bokbig's friend. However, Bamboo turned out to be Bokbig's rival rather than his friend.

    Born in 1985. 3rd place in an art show in the U.S. for drawing in 2003 and 2011, 3rd place in Tokyo pop's "rising stars of manga vol.5″, Debut with "Go with Grece", in 2006, independent artist from 2006- present.
    〈Story line〉 Katerina, a young American woman, takes a vacation to the Greek islands and hopes to take a break from her life. While there, she befriends a young man named Nikos-but the trouble is she barely speaks a word of Greek! The two grow close, communicating through gestures and broken language. But how will Katerina handle her new friendship, knowing it's doomed to be over when she leave for home?

    Duo unit. Born in 1985 and 1984. Debut in February,2006 with the "Constellation Story" Started the series the "CARRIER" in a comic magazine from May 2012.Their "driving force" was awarded with project prize in 2012.
    〈Story line〉 Diffusion of a virus changed the world completely. The population reduced dramatically and towns went to ruin. A few numbers of people adapted to the virus and became an entity different from human beings, CARRIER. A boy named Eddy and his guardian Mokus live in a neutral city, but they are going to conduct a search for a cruel torso murder case. Mokus,being himself a CARRIER, starts a search, using his ability.

    Born in 1962. Haveing experienced a variety of jobs including a school teacher, made his debut in 1991. Has provided stories to many comics.

    How could anyone have continued to believe in God after such butchery?
    What is the place of the artist, when confronted with an absurdity of this magnitude? In order to better understand, we must go down in the trenches. The smell; It's the smell that hits you first. The smell of corpses, putrefying, decaying. The French and the Germans abandoned to their fate, in a no-man's –land where nothing grows but barded wire.
